The best way to reach Garching Campus is by underground (U6), terminal-stop "Garching-Forschungszentrum". It is not far to walk - cf. the map of the MVV:

If you choose to come by car, you can have a look at the parking possibilities on the campus and plan your trip via

From Munich Airport you have three possibilities:

• You take a taxi. Please tell the driver, that you want to reach "Forschungszentrum Garching", not the "city Garching"! From experience it is cheaper to take the "Landstraße", not the motorway.
• You take the Suburbian train 1 to the stop "Neufahrn" and change there for the bus Nr. 690 to "Garching, Forschungszentrum". The bus stop is above the underground station, so the way to the lecture hall is the same. 
• You take the Suburbian train 8 to the stop "Ismaning" and change there for the bus Nr. 230 to "Garching, Forschungszentrum". The bus stop is above the underground station, so the way to the lecture hall is the same.

From Munich central station, the Forschungsgelaende Garching is easy to reach:

Please go down to the basement of the central station where the "S-Bahn" (= suburbian train) operates. Take one to "Marienplatz" (two stops). There you can change to the underground line U6 with the destination "Garching-Forschungszentrum". Please note: Be sure to take a train with this destination on it, because there are relief trains only to "Fröttmaning" or "Münchner Freiheit"! Alltogether you will need around half an hour (pure journey time).

Some of the submitted abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.Those lectures shall last about 15 minutes.

Provided this is the case with your abstract, you will be informed by email at February 17^th, 2012 at the latest.

By underground (U6) "Forschungszentrum Garching" is only one stop away from "Garching". From "Garching-Hochbrück", you have to travel two stations.

Campus Garching, also called "Garching Forschungszentrum", is a quarter of the university town Garching. The town presents itself on its homepage, where you can find

Run and Bike

In case you wish to be physically active, there are the beautiful Isarauen (woodland paths at the shore of the river Isar), for example to run and bike:

Swimming

Unfortunately, there is no pool at Garching and the pool at Ismaning is closed due to renovation till February 2012. But here you can find all information around the pools at Munich:

Lake Garching

The lake is situated northwest of Garching. In summer, it's worth a visit!
