Opening of the new East-Building of the Forschungsneutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) May 2007
Our facility grows: The first additional building has been finished.
In close proximity to the reactor building, the new complex will accommodate the Jülich Centre of Neutron Science and outstations from the GKSS Forschungszentrum and the Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin. Like in the existing neutron guide hall, the new east hall will be used for scientific experiments.
The close collaboration between the Munich and Jülich scientists and there colleagues will advance the FRM II to a leading international centre for neutron scattering.
Already the neutron source is a magnet for top international scientists. Surrounded by many modern educational and research facilities, Garching is amongst the finest places in the scientific world.
