• I want to visit someone at the FRM II
• I shall carry out activities (e.g. for a company)

• You need a valid passport or identity card to get access to the restricted areas of the FRM II. Driving licenses or similar documents are not sufficient.

• Please proceed to the visitors' entrance where you will receive an entrance badge in exchange for your identity card or passport. For visitors staying only for one day at the FRM II site, an internal registration is made; your local contact will manage it for you.

• Your local contact will accompany you during your whole stay.

• You need a valid passport or identity card to get access to the restricted areas of the FRM II. Driving licenses or similar documents are not sufficient.

• Please proceed to the visitors' entrance.

• You need a facility badge with photo identification. It will be issued after you passed a nuclear facilities specific security screening.

• Since this is a rather time-consuming process, we like to complete this for you as soon as possible prior to your stay to grant you uncomplicated access. Please provide us with the necessary form 3 months prior to your visit of FRM II.

• A Declaration Form to apply for the security screening can be downloaded via Downloads, look for Forms - Security.

• Your local contact will help you with the application formalities.

• After having received the approval for your experiment, please notify us of your stay as early as possible by entering the data of your stay into the module Arrival_Departure.
  • If you need to change your schedule later, please contact the User Office.

• You need a valid passport or identity card to get access to the restricted areas of the FRM II. Driving licenses or similar documents are not sufficient.

• Access to the experimental hall requires a security screening for each new user. In case you have no Nuclear Reliability Check at your disposal, please fill in the declaration form. Regarding scientists from German institutions: In case you lived outside Germany during the last ten years, please provide us with a certificate of good conduct from the authorities of the country in question (in german or english). Send the form and a copy of your passport (and the foreign certificates) to the address given below. The FRM II will start the procedure then, which will take about 3 months. Scientists from foreign institutions are asked to do the same. 

  • Don't worry: Independent of the status of your Nuclear Reliability Check you will have access to your experiment all the time, but you will be checked by the security each time entering the experimental hall of FRM II.
