Directions to FRM II

Public transportation:

The FRM II is reached from Munich centre by underground U6 (direction Garching-Forschungszentrum). The last stop is just 50 meters from the entrance of the FRM II. At peak hours the underground operates in a 5-min interval, otherwise in a 10 or 20-min interval.

From the airport to the FRM II:

The best option is the S1 to Neufahrn, and from there by bus 690 to Garching Forschungszentrum. An alternative is the S8 to Ismaning, and from there by bus 230 direction Garching Forschungszentrum. Current information can be found on the pages of the Munich public transport MVV. The transfer by taxi from the airport to the FRM II takes about 15 minutes and costs about 30 €. Please get across to the taxi driver that you want to reach the "Forschungszentrum" in Garching. For more information about Munich airport, please visit the web page.
