The German neutron source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) is operational 260 days per year in 5 cycles of 52 days each. Proposals can be submitted at any time via our user portal user.frm2.tum.de. They are reviewed twice a year. Please register electronically at the user portal. With your personal account you can access the proposal and report submission system and obtain additional information and guidance to perform experiments at the FRM II.
The next deadline for proposal round 6 is 17 August 2007.
No long term proposals are accepted for this application round.
The proposal review for the round 6 proposals will take place on 14 September 2007. The results of round 6 will be online about three weeks later. We will try to scheduled the accepted proposals as soon as possible, however, the majority of proposals can be performed in cycle 16 (January 2008) and onwards:

The FRM II is a partner in the EU supported network of European neutron facilities (NMI3 in FP6). Researchers working in EU Member States or Associated States other than Germany can apply for travel and subsistence reimbursement with exception of the JCNS operated instruments.

In addition to the beam line experiments irradiation facilities are available for neutron activation analysis, isotope production and silicon doping. Altogether 17 irradiation channels are available for scientific and industrial applications.
