Dr. Neelima Paul wins 2nd prize at Batterieforum Deutschland

Aktuell, Wissenschaft | 23.01.2025

From January 21–23, 2025, the 13th Batterieforum Deutschland – organized by the Kompetenznetzwerk Lithium-Ionen-Batterien (KLiB) and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) – brought together leading figures from industry, academia and politics at the Ritz-Carlton in Berlin. Over the course of three days, experts discussed current trends in battery technology, while an accompanying poster exhibition showcased the results of ongoing publicly funded projects and research.

During the conference dinner, the three best posters were honored for their outstanding contributions. Dr. Neelima Paul received the second prize for her poster entitled “Understanding aging mechanisms in Li-ion batteries with neutrons”. The prestigious award was presented by Federal Minister of Education and Research (BMBF) Cem Özdemir, emphasizing the importance of her work for the progress of battery research.

The winning posters were selected by the BMBF's Battery Research Germany Advisory Board. The 1st place honours Jonas Sprengelmeyer from the Volkswagen Group and the 3rd place Johannes Kühn from Fraunhofer IWS/ TU Dresden. The second prize is endowed with 1250 euros.

Dr. Neelima Paul has been working at the Forschungs-Neutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) for more than 10 years and is currently head of the Data Evaluation Group (DEVA) at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum.
