With deep sadness we have received the news of the sudden death of Dr. Michael Prager, our colleague from the Jülich Center of Neutron Sciences. He passed away on Tuesday 4th November 2008. Since 1975 Michael Prager has worked at the Institute for Solid State Research (IFF) at the Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH on the topics of molecular spectroscopy and tunneling on which he has gathered an international reputation. Since the early days of our neutron source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz he has contributed on its instrumentation especially on the backscattering instrument SPHERES and the time-of-flight machine TOPAS.
His discreet, friendly and helpful manner Michael Prager has brought a large number of young scientists to use neutron scattering. We will always keep him in found memory.
