International workshop on sample environment

Aktuell, Wissenschaft, Industrie, Allgemein | 29.09.2010

The FRM II hosts the international workshop on sample environment at neutron scattering facilities these days. Until Friday, October 1st, about 60 participants from 10 different nations discuss measurements at high pressure, under magnetic fields or extreme temperatures.

The participants were visiting the labs of the sample environment at the neutron guide hall west of the FRM II.

After a visit of the labs at the FRM II neutron source, the workshop is continued at a hotel in Herrsching. The experts from 14 different facilities will report about their experiences in talks. The talks will be held by scientists and representatives from industry. At a poster session, the participants can discuss intensively.

The international workshop on sample environment at neutron scattering facilities (SE@NSF) meets biannually at different locations. This years’ organiser and head of the FRM II sample environment, Dr. Jürgen Peters, is happy about the interchange with his colleagues: “As an indication of the growing spirit of international cooperation may be taken the attendance of our colleagues from Asia for the first time.”
