The FRM II hosts the international workshop on sample environment at neutron scattering facilities these days. Until Friday, October 1st, about 60 participants from 10 different nations discuss measurements at high pressure, under magnetic fields or extreme temperatures.

Hubert Ceeh received a student prize for his talk about his diploma thesis at the international Workshops on Slow Positron Beam Techniques in Australia. The next international conference on positrons will be held 2013 at the FRM II.

The instruments are huge, the structures, which are examined with their help are in the nanometer range. The federal ministry for education and research supports those instruments built by universities and institutes at the neutron source with a total sum of 10.2 million euros.
