34th cycle continued since today

On November 13th the research neutron source had to be shut down as a precautionary measure to check the cause of a suspicious noise at the drive motor of the cold source.

A more detailed investigation was possible for reasons of safety only with the engine off. The suspicion that the cause could be the fan motor has been confirmed. The related repair was completed last Friday and the engine could be put back into operation.
The cold source was cooled again since yesterday morning and today the FRM II was put into operation on schedule again.
