FRM II and MLZ at job fair

It is now a good tradition that the Research Neutron Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz presents itself at the university contact fair (Hoko) in Munich. Among 300 other exhibitors, the FRM II again this year offered activities for working students, internships and jobs.

Volunteer students have been organizing the Hoko since 1997. Around 15,000 students and 300 companies come here for personal talks in order to get to know each other. At the FRM II booth, five employees from various areas of the research neutron source provided interested students with information about internships, working student activities, but also concrete job offers.

In order to give the students a clear impression of the work at the research neutron source, the FRM II staff brought along a Lego model of the three-axis spectrometer (TRISP). This enabled the visitors to see how the FRM II generates neutrons, which in turn are used by TRISP to measure atomic and magnetic oscillations. Thanks to the representatives of the different working areas, it was possible to submit 23 job offers to the students at the Research Neutron Source and at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum, for which they can now apply subsequently. Rudolf Schütz (instrument engineer), Dr. Ilario Defendi (detector & electronics), Milan Antic (sample environment), Anke Görg (press and public relations) and Bruno Baumeister (high-density nuclear fuels) also answered questions. The fact that they transferred their enthusiasm to the visitors is reflected in the completely distributed stocks of visitor brochures and other advertising material. Parallel to the interactive model and the discussions with the experts, short films were shown in a continuous loop, which exemplarily presented the work on the research neutron source.

The team is now looking forward to numerous applications.
