Holiday academy for students

Aktuell, Wissenschaft | 03.05.2017

"Mountains - Hiking - Learning" is the motto of the “Ferienakademie Sarntal” from 17 to 29 September 2017. Until 9 May, Bachelor and Master students from various disciplines can apply.

Hiking is part of the Ferienakademie in the Sarn Valley.

For more than 30 years, the Ferienakademie of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the University of Stuttgart and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg has been offering what teachers and students dream of: small groups, enthusiastic speakers and a stimulating environment in the South Tyrolean Sarn Valley.

Prof. Dr. Winfried Petry, Scientific Director of the FRM II, will also be presenting a course for 14 students on "Energy Materials" in the Sarn Valley together with his colleague, Prof. Dr. Tobias Unruh, from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. It is aimed at Bachelor students from various disciplines from the 4th semester or Master's students.

Another course, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Rudolf Gross, Chair of Technical Physics at the TUM, and Gert Denninger from the University of Stuttgart, is devoted to "Physics and Electronics in Everyday Life". Bachelor students part in the first and second year of physics or electrical engineering and information technology can take part.

Courses on nine other topics are offered. They are aimed at students of physics, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, engineering, electrical and information technology, materials science, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, materials science, economic mathematics, statistics, scientific computing or information and communication technology. The selection is based on the qualification. There are no obligatory costs for participants.

Further information can be found at www.ferienakademie.de.
