As planned the neutron source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) was shut down on 23th December at 11 o'clock for the Christmas holidays. The cycle 18 will be continued on 5th January.
The FRM II was available on 251 days in 2008 and reached a 100 percent availability compared to the planned operational time. The starts of the single cycles were all kept precisely.
Therefore the FRM II will possibly again rank among the world's best neutron sources, when it comes to the planning ability of the operation and the availability in 2008.
