The Bavarian Minister of Environment, Health and Consumer Protection, Dr. Bernhard, visiting FRMII.

Allgemein, Aktuell | 25.03.2008

State Minister Dr. Bernhard and other members of the StMUGV are looking at the reactor pool of FRM II.

On March 18, 2008 the Bavarian Minister Dr. Bernhard and further representatives of the Bavarian Ministry of Environment (StMUGV) were welcomed by the chancellor of TUM, Mr. Albert Berger, by his permanent deputy, Mr. Wilhelm Eisenbeiß, and the directorate of the Neutron Research Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz. Dr. Bernhard, head of supervisory authority of FRM II, was informed about the nuclear technical operation and - in his capacity as Minister of Environment and Health - about the numerous possibilites of usage of the high flux source, especially about the current research topics in the field of environment and medical application. Spending almost three hours at FRM II, Dr. Bernhard got a very close experience of its facilities (reactor and experimental hall) and of the research conducted herein and he was very enthusiastic about the scientific potential of the neutron source .
