Our guided tours are offered free of charge as part of our research institution's public outreach activities and are not intended for commercial or paid events.
Take a look inside the reactor pool, learn more about the non-destructive examination of matter with neutrons and how radioisotopes are used in medicine.
- Who works at the FRM II research neutron source?
- How does such a high-performance research reactor work?
- What is radioactivity and where do we encounter it in everyday life?
- Why is research carried out with neutrons?
- Why are radioisotopes/radiopharmaceuticals used to treat cancer?
- Why can bacteria become resistant to antibiotics?

We offer interested school classes (up to 24 people) guided tours that provide a deeper insight into this large-scale research facility.
Please register your visit request in good time by telephone or e-mail. Please allow at least three hours for your visit.
