We offer group tours (4 to 18 people) for interested visitors, which provide a deeper insight into this large-scale research facility.
Please register your visit request in good time by telephone or e-mail. Please allow at least three hours for your visit.
Conditions for access to the controlled areas of the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II):
- Minimum age: 18 years,
- valid identity card or passport, non-EU citizens require a valid passport (residence permits or driving licenses are not accepted),
- no access for pregnant women and nursing mothers,
- no cameras or cell phones allowed (personal items can be left at our checkroom free of charge),
- long pants, covered shoulders and closed shoes are mandatory (visitors must walk over gratings for longer distances),
- restricted access for people with medical aids (e.g. pacemakers),
- no completely barrier-free access.
Please let us know your requirements and we will find a solution together!
As a nuclear facility, we have access rules that you must observe! For example, you may not take any dangerous objects, drinks or food into the reactor building.
Of course, we also offer guided tours of the research campus on the Open Day. We will publish the date and our other offers on this day under News and Events.
