Brochures

  • Scientific Annual Report 2024 The scientific highlights of 2024 range from small iron scavangers in the sea that bind carbon dioxide to new joints for oil pipelines and Nobel Prize-winning quantum measurements with neutrons. In addition to the twelve highlights, the report offers an insight into several dozen publications, the latest research results of the fuel conversion and, of course, all the events of the past year. 18 MB Download
  • Neutrons for Research and Innovation (in German) This brochure gives an insight into the research at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum: from batteries for electric cars, via antibiotics against resistant bacteria to environmentally friendly wrapping. Download
  • Scientific Annual Report 2023 Scientific highlights of the past year are: approaching the dream of nuclear fusion with positrons, analyzing potential rocks for CO2 storage and researching an alternative to cow's milk, such as milk from sugar beet leaves. The annual report provides general facts and figures as well as information on the conversion of the FRM II to low-enriched uranium (LEU) and the latest instrument updates. 14 MB Download
  • Impressions of the FRM II and its partners Since 2002, Wenzel Schürmann, photographer at the Technical University of Munich, has been capturing impressions of the FRM and FRM II with a digital camera. This book shows his own, very personal selection. The 86 photographs are intended as documentation of everyday life at the research reactor and as an expression of the enthusiasm, joy and passion of the people researching and working at the FRM and FRM II.
